About Wet Concrete

I keep thinking of poured floors that have dried just long enough to lose their sheen. Wet Concrete sits in that in-between zone: darker than most grays, but not as stubbornly black as Charcoal, and it doesn't lean so sooty-cool like Phantom Ship. Compared to Aztec, it's missing the green tug. What you get instead is a neutral, mineral gray with a slightly softened contrast.

In practice, I reach for Wet Concrete when I need dark UI panels that feel heavy and grounded without turning metallic or cold. It works well for dashboards and finance apps where charts and tables need a steady stage, plus editor side rails in media companies where you're previewing video thumbnails and timeline controls. It's also a strong choice for app settings screens and admin tables that should feel quietly durable rather than aggressive.

Pair it with off-whites and lighter mid-grays so type doesn't sink into the surface. On its own, it can read a touch flat next to sharper blacks, so treat it like a primary surface, not an accent.
