About Under the Sea

I think of Under the Sea as the blue you get after a long look at deep water, not the moment it turns dark. Compared to Night Shift's cool slate depth and Great Void's light-absorbing heaviness, this one feels more "open" and buoyant. It's also less compressed than After the Storm, with a smoother, calmer saturation.

Under the Sea works well when you want primary actions and key states to feel grounded, but not weighty. I reach for it in dashboards and logistics screens where tables, map panels, and status tags need to stay readable without turning harsh. It also shows up nicely in blue family product UI for consumer health apps and field operations, especially for selected tabs, focus rings, and section headers.

Quirk: on very bright displays it can drift slightly toward teal. If you see that, pair it with neutrals that lean gray rather than warm, and keep typography on the crisp side so it doesn't get washed out.
