Lichen

I see Lichen as that pale, desaturated leaf-gray you get when teal gets dusted over. It sits on the green side of the blue family, but it's not as teal-leaning as Celadon Porcelain and it doesn't have Beau Monde's warmth and lift. Compared to Mint Twist, it's slightly weightier and more grounded, less airy, so it reads calmer than "fresh breath."

I use it for secondary surfaces where you want structure without stealing attention, especially dashboards and finance apps. Think card backgrounds, quiet panels, and divider bands in healthcare and fintech UIs where the layout needs soft separation. It holds up as a hover layer too, but it stays muted enough that your data still leads. Pair it with charcoal text and cool neutrals for a clean, stable look.

One quirk: because it's muted, it can look a touch greener against very blue backgrounds. If that happens, nudge your accompanying grays slightly cooler and keep your key accents a bit deeper. This is the one you reach for when you want "considered" without the glare.
