Violet Vision
#b7bdd1
Cool violet-leaning gray for higher-contrast calm
About Violet Vision
I keep noticing Violet Vision in UI screenshots where the gray feels a step more "seen" than the usual neutrals. It's a light, cool-leaning gray with a faint violet cast, so it doesn't read like straight blue-gray. Compared to Arctic Ice, it's not darker or punchier, and you don't have that same obvious blue presence. Versus Ethereal Mist, it's a touch more grounded, less fog-soft, and the lavender hint feels more intentional than gentle.
I use it for secondary surfaces when the interface needs clarity without going sterile, especially in dashboards and healthcare platforms where card backgrounds, input fields, and disabled states should look deliberate. It holds up in fintech too, where you want hierarchy that still feels calm, not apologetic. It's the one you reach for when you want a cool gray that pairs cleanly across neutral and cool systems, but won't feel as severe as the bluer neighbors.
Quirk: if you pair it with very warm browns or creams, that violet tint can start to show more than you expect, so keep warming accents tighter and more muted.
