Electric Blood
#e23d2a
Hot orange-red for urgent highlights, less deep than enemies
About Electric Blood
Electric Blood looks like a fresh warning LED seen through a slightly tinted lens. It's orange that's been dialed toward red, but it doesn't turn lazy or wine-dark like Bacon Strips. Compared to Carpaccio, it's brighter without getting light, and it keeps a tighter bite than Blood of My Enemies, which can feel too sharp and confrontational.
I use it for error states and "pay attention" moments where you want urgency with control. Think health dashboards that surface failed checks, fitness apps flagging form issues mid-session, fintech screens that confirm something needs action, and media platforms showing real-time alerts that shouldn't feel panicked. It reads with high urgency without feeling like an alarm, and it behaves well on white and warm grays without the heavy settle you get from the deeper oranges. The quirk: it stays loud in dense UI, but it won't drown your hierarchy the way a hotter red-orange can.
Pair it with charcoal or ink for clean contrast, and if your palette already leans "meat tone," lean back on spacing so this shade stays the only thing that's actually urgent.
