About Onion Skin
On my screen, Onion Skin reads like softened stationery that has been handled. It's very light, but it doesn't go to that high-glare paper feel you get from blander off-whites. The undertone is a cool-leaning gray that stays more neutral than the cream-forward neighbors, so it feels calmer than Cannoli Cream and cleaner than Ivory Wedding.
Compared with Oyster Island, Onion Skin is a touch more even and a little less yellow-matte. Compared to Cumulus-type airiness, it has more presence without turning into warmth. I use it when a pale background needs personality without turning beige in hospitality digital spaces like room details, check-in confirmations, and menu previews. It also holds up in publishing layouts where headings sit next to long text and you want the one you reach for when you don't want the background to argue with type.
Pair it with warm charcoals or crisp, near-white neutrals, and keep very yellow accents in check. Warm blacks can look just right, but overly warm palettes can make this shade feel slightly cooler than intended.
