Hint of Yellow
#faf1cd
Paler yellow-gray highlight, warmer and softer than Blond
About Hint of Yellow
I keep catching Hint of Yellow in mockups where everything is "almost white." Under a neutral UI, it turns the background slightly sunny, but not peachy, more like a soft, pale highlight than a warm cream wash. Compared to Bullet Hell, it has a gentler yellow edge and less of that squint-worthy warmth; compared to Buttered Up, it's lighter and less muted, so the undertone reads clearer without getting beige-y.
For editorial layouts, SaaS dashboards, and publishing platforms, it's the backdrop I reach for when you want things to feel lived-in but restrained. It sits well behind dense body text, form fields, and charts, and it plays nicely with both cool and neutral UI palettes. It's also handy for fintech-style screens where pure white feels too clinical, because it stays warmer than pure white without stepping into noticeable saturation.
One quirk: don't pair it with overly dark grays if you're testing on different displays. It can look a touch brighter than your typography expects, so sanity-check contrast with real screenshots.
