Gold Buttercup
#ffe8bb
Buttery pale chartreuse warmth for airy greens
About Gold Buttercup
Gold Buttercup reads like bright butter spread thin on sunlit paper. It's not as pale as Creamy Apricot, and it doesn't drift as peachy as Chess Ivory. Compared to Candle Glow, it loses some of that deeper amber richness and comes across more butter-forward and cleaner, with a gentle yellow-green undertone that stays calm instead of burning hot.
I reach for this shade when I need a warm backdrop that still feels light and usable in layout. It's great for product pages in food and home goods, recipe and hospitality interfaces, and the quieter side of retail ecommerce where type needs room to breathe. It holds up well against charcoal and deep olive, but it won't ground a page the way the richer warm creams do.
Pair it carefully with true whites. Next to them, Gold Buttercup can look even more yellow and slightly greener, so if your design already trends cool, you may want a warmer neutral for balance.
