Storm

Storm blue-violet for high-contrast, grounded panels
About Storm
Storm reads like a night sky right after rain, but with the purple pulled tighter and more saturated than Infinite Night. Compared to Endless Galaxy, it feels less airy and more anchored, not as breathable or intentionally "purple." And unlike Silent Twilight's velvet bruise softness, Storm comes off cooler and more decisive, closer to deep indigo than grounded violet.
In UI, I use Storm when I need a dark background that still signals "purple" on the first glance, without tipping into icy territory. It's great for hero backdrops and locked containers in streaming and podcast experiences, plus legal and archival portals where headers need authority but can't turn muddy. It also works well for selected states and focused panels where you want the one you reach for that holds contrast over dense layouts.
One quirk: because it's cooler and heavier, it pairs best with crisp borders and lighter periwinkle or slate highlights, otherwise it can feel a bit stern beside warmer neutrals.
