Gale of the Wind
#007844
Dark teal-green with calm, crisp contrast
About Gale of the Wind
Gale of the Wind looks like wind-touched river moss on a breezy day: teal-leaning, damp, and a little smoky. It's not that slick, subdued oiliness of Greasy Greens, and it doesn't have the juicy cucumber clarity of Cucumber Queen. Compared to Bold Irish, it steps back in depth and shifts cooler, so it reads more airy than authoritative, less "work badge" and more "fresh weather."
I use this when the UI needs green that feels natural but not playful. Think outdoor subscriptions and sustainability dashboards where you want progress states to feel calm, not heavy. It also works well for plant-forward e-commerce filters and editorial spreads with lots of negative space, especially when you want greens to stay readable over mid-tone photos.
One quirk: because it leans toward blue-green, it can feel a bit distant next to warm wood browns. Pair it with crisp off-whites, slate grays, or slightly yellow neutrals so it doesn't go too chilly.
