About Toxic Sludge
On my screen, Toxic Sludge reads like a dirty, high-ink green that's more intense than Green With Envy or Lush Plains, but it doesn't have their clean "fresh paint" confidence. It's darker and tighter, with a slightly swampy undertone that feels heavier than Green Goblin's steadier operator-grade authority.
I use it for states that need weight and restraint: pharmacy QC hold markers, manufacturing nonconformance queues, and compliance task badges where the green must look deliberate, not celebratory. In dashboards and finance apps, it works as the one you reach for when you're stacking many status chips and you don't want the shade to drift toward yellow or go too punchy. Compared to Green Goblin, Toxic Sludge feels less crisp and more saturated-murk, so it stays noticeable without turning neon. Pair it with cool grays or near-black charcoal and give it breathing room against pale off-whites, because it can feel a bit "wet" if your background is too bright.
If you need the same semantics but calmer presence, swap to Lush Plains for approvals and confirmations, and reserve Toxic Sludge for the tougher decisions.
