About Shadows of Time
I think of Shadows of Time as the teal you notice after the lights dim. It's noticeably darker and more muted than Elf and Emerald Whispers, but it stays cooler and steadier than Go Go Green's warmer lean. The result is a shade that feels like it has depth in the shadows rather than lift in the midtones.
I use it for dashboards and workflow UIs where you need interaction states that look intentional, not "friendly." Think analytics panels in fintech, data-heavy healthcare admin screens, and settings screens with stacked controls. Compared to Elf, it reads less approachable and more composed. Compared to Emerald Whispers, it's more restrained and less green-forward. Against Go Go Green, it won't drift toward a softer human warmth.
Pair it with near-black text and cool grays if you want that composed tone. On very bright whites, dial down the saturation in your design system so it doesn't feel heavy next to crisp type.
