Soulless
#1b150d
Muted cool gray-brown for harsh, disciplined contrast
About Soulless
Soulless looks like a dim theater void that still has a gray underlayer, but it never tips brown or turns smoky. It's a deep, desaturated dark with a slightly earthy undertone that feels more "sealed" than inked, less hazy than Noir Mystique and not as heavy-warm as King Kong. Compared to Dark Veil, it doesn't hold that velvety hint of gray ink, it reads flatter and more deliberate, like a matte panel that refuses to breathe.
I use it when the UI needs authority without the warmth creeping in. Think media asset management consoles, dark editing review spaces, and operations tools where you're presenting dense tables, alert lists, and map overlays for logistics and monitoring. It also works well as the background for the one you reach for when typography needs to stay crisp and centered, especially next to neutral grays and clean, slightly cool highlights.
Pair it sparingly with warm accents, or the undertone can start to feel "off" in small text.
