Madonna
#3f4250
Neutral slate gray with a soft, cooler hush
About Madonna
Madonna (#3f4250) is the gray I notice on a matte control surface where the light never fully warms up, but it also doesn't feel as cool and slick as Midnight Sky. Compared to Midnight Serenade, it reads a little more substantial and less "UI-afterglow." Compared with Dark Crypt, it's not as deep or heavy, so the edges feel tighter and more deliberate rather than sinking.
For me it's the one you reach for when you need dark-mode surfaces to stay neutral under mixed content. In newsroom CMS layouts, it makes metadata strips and side rails look cleaner than Dark Crypt, without getting too airy. In audio and photo workflows, it holds up behind waveform panes and thumbnail grids while keeping inspector controls readable. It also works well for dark dashboards and editorial tools where you want panels to feel steady, not void-like.
Pairing note: keep accents slightly muted, because Madonna's undertone can make very icy highlights feel a bit thin next to it.
