Oak Barrel
#715636
Deep oak brown with muted earthy warmth
About Oak Barrel
Oak Barrel looks like the brown you'd pull from a stained wood sample under a warm lamp: not as deep as Cold Brew Coffee, not as softened and inviting as Baby Bear, and not as shadow-tilted as Chocolate Rain. It sits in between, but it stays cleaner and more deliberate, with a steady amber undertone that reads woody instead of austere.
For UI work, I like it where you need structure that still feels human: editorial sidebars, dark mode product dashboards, and coffee shop interfaces where labels, section dividers, and quiet button states have to stay legible without shouting. It also holds up in packaging and menu typography, where too-cool browns get flat fast. Compared to Cold Brew, Oak Barrel has more warmth and less grit; compared to Baby Bear, it keeps its backbone; compared to Chocolate Rain, it feels less underlit and more consistently "painted on."
Pair it with cream, oat, and other warm neutrals, and it won't fight your imagery. Push it next to icy grays and it may start to look tired.
