Chivalrous Walrus

Chivalrous Walrus is the one that sits lower and redder than Caribou, it's got less air in it, more clay. Where Caribou reads as intentional restraint, this one reads as committed warmth. It's closer to earth than to leather, but it doesn't have the dryness that makes Argan Oil feel like it's retreating. There's actual color decision here, not just a safe brown that could pass as neutral.

Reach for it in heritage retail sites, wine label layouts, and restaurant interfaces where the brown needs to feel grounded without apologizing. Works as a card background, a button hover state, a sidebar that actually anchors the page. Against cream it stays warm and present; against off-whites it reads clearly as a color with personality. It's darker than Barrel Aged but warmer in tone, less oxidized, more alive.

The catch: pair it with cool grays and it can tip toward muddy. Warm whites, warm neutrals, and anything with rust in it keeps it singing. It's not the background-everywhere color Argan Oil is, but it works harder than Caribou at full-bleed because it's got the saturation to carry weight.
