Sneaky Sesame
#896a46
Muted sesame-brown with a slightly earthy tilt
About Sneaky Sesame
I keep catching Sneaky Sesame as that muted toast-brown that shows up on the inside of a kraft envelope when it's been left in warm light overnight. It's not as leather-saturated as Barrel Aged, and it doesn't pick up that gray film that makes Golem feel sun-baked and dry. Pastel Brown is lighter and more paper-bag soft, but Sneaky Sesame stays more purposeful, with a steadier yellow warmth.
It lands in the sweet spot between depth and restraint: medium-light, moderately saturated, and slightly golden rather than reddish. That makes it handy for heritage brand sites where you want a brown that reads chosen, not neutral, and for bourbon distillery interfaces that need warmth without the heavier weight of red-brown tones. I also like it for print-to-digital restaurant layouts as section headers and button states on warm whites. It's warmer than pure white without tipping into dusty cream.
Tip: don't pair it with icy grays or overly pale creams, or it starts to look flat. Warm off-whites and sand keep its body.
