Barrel Aged

Muted barrel-warm ochre-brown for softer wood tones
About Barrel Aged
Barrel Aged is what happens when you age brown past the point of looking like a neutral. It's got the warmth of leather that's been sitting in sun, but it doesn't soften the way Argan Oil does, there's actual saturation underneath, a reddish undertone that keeps it from feeling dusty or flat. It's darker than Caribou, but nowhere near the density of Aztec Temple. This one lands in the middle ground where the color stays legible and warm without demanding the visual weight.
Use it in heritage brand sites, bourbon distillery interfaces, and print-to-digital restaurant layouts where you need something that reads as deliberately chosen rather than safe. Works as a card background, a button state, a section header, anywhere you want brown that actually feels like brown. Against warm whites it reads clearly; against cream it holds its own without pulling cool or getting muddy the way some of its neighbors do.
The difference from Caribou matters: this one has more depth without the opacity of Aztec Temple, so it can breathe at larger scales without exhausting the eye. Pair it with off-whites and warm grays, and it stays sharp. It's forgiving enough to work harder than it looks, but it's not a background-everywhere color, it still needs room to settle.
