Cacodemon Red

Cacodemon Red is what you get when you strip the warmth out of red entirely and crank the darkness way up. It's almost a maroon, but meaner, far less orange-leaning than Chorizo, way less wine-settled than Antique Port Wine, and darker than Bleeding Crimson without sacrificing punch. This is red that wants to feel hostile, not heated.

Reach for it in horror game interfaces, dark mode alerts, and premium error states where you need something that reads as genuinely dangerous rather than just urgent. High-stakes gaming overlays, cybersecurity dashboards, or anywhere the mood skews toward threat instead of appetite. It's the color that doesn't apologize and doesn't warm up. Against dark backgrounds, blacks, deep grays, charcoals, it actually pops harder than you'd expect from something this desaturated.

The catch: pair it with warm neutrals or light backgrounds and it'll flatten immediately. It needs cold company to breathe. Use it where you mean it.
