Nirvana
#a2919b
Warm taupe-gray with subdued, neutral calm
About Nirvana
I think of Nirvana as the gray you notice only after you've removed the clutter: it's smooth and quiet, with a soft violet tint that makes it feel less "plain" than the other mid neutrals. Where Gull stays balanced and approachable, Nirvana reads more muted and a touch cooler, and it doesn't warm up into that friendly, beige-adjacent zone.
In practice, I use it as a panel background and form surface in dashboards and finance apps when I want separation without that slight lavender seriousness you get from Hong Kong Mist. It's also my go-to in admin and operations portals for table toolbars and settings headers, especially when Lunar Light starts feeling too airy and floating. Compared to Lunar Light's clean cool lift, Nirvana has a deeper, more grounded lightness, so it holds up behind dense UI and stays out of the way.
One note: if your layout already has a lot of mauve or rose accents, Nirvana can start to look a bit more tinted than you expected. Keep the highlight colors crisp and you'll get the calm, not the confusion.
