Driftwood
#a67a45
Muted driftwood brown, sanded midtone for subdued panels
About Driftwood
Driftwood reads like sun-bleached oak dust on the edge of a porch step. It's earthy, but it doesn't go full caramel or peanut. Compared to Butterbeer, it's less orange and less "soft shout." Compared to Caramelised Pecan, it's lighter and more weathered, with lower punch and less saturation.
I use Driftwood where you want a dry, mid-light brown-gold that still feels calm: hospitality dashboards, product cards, and editorial sidebars in food and retail. It's especially handy for labels, chips, and secondary backgrounds that must stay legible next to cream, warm gray, or off-white. It's the one you reach for when Forbidden Peanut feels too mustardy, but you don't want the heavier weight of deeper pecan tones.
Quirk: on very warm beige it can blend in, so I'll pair it with cooler neutrals or a touch darker toast brown to keep the hierarchy crisp.
