Gremlin
#a79954
Sage-moss olive with a slightly dusty chill
About Gremlin
I keep Gremlin in mind as the green you spot when a greenhouse bench light catches fresh leaves but filters them through dust-free shade. It's more earthy and olive-forward than Formosan Green, yet less gold-leaning and less "powdered" than Garden of Earthly Delights. Compared to Backroom Ember, it dials back the brass warmth so the undertone reads greener and slightly cooler, not cozy-metallic.
Design-wise, I use it for plant-care and horticulture dashboards when you want accuracy without leaning into either yellow haze or late-afternoon warmth. It also holds up in editorial product interfaces for agriculture and consumer goods, especially for status chips, taxonomy panels, and image captions where you need the green to stay calm beside creams and warm grays. If you're trying to avoid Backroom Ember's richer heat, this is the one I reach for.
Quirk: because it's moderately light, it can feel a bit airy next to very pale surfaces, so I'd pair it with a slightly darker border or type weight to keep edges crisp.
