Rusty Red
#af2f0d
Muted brick-red orange for calmer, less-alert accents
About Rusty Red
Rusty Red looks like the inside of a weathered terracotta pot that's had sun on it all afternoon. Compared to Grilled Tomato, it's less orange and less "toasted fresh," and it doesn't feel clean or caramel-ready. Compared to Joyous Red, it sits back from the sharper red lane and doesn't have that same punchy, stop-sign snap.
I use it when I want warmth with a grounded, lived-in undertone. It's great for e-commerce and retail UI accents that shouldn't read as an alert, like sale badges, product variant pills, and editorial section headers in food, home goods, or crafts. It also works well in real estate galleries as a highlight that feels tactile rather than bright.
Just watch your pairings: next to Crimson Velvet Sunset, Rusty Red feels lighter and more earthy, not darker and luxurious. Try it with cream, olive-gray, or deep chocolate for balance.
