Malt beige-green with a drier, toasted hush

About Malt

Malt reads like a beige-green you notice only after the UI stops shouting. It's noticeably deeper and richer than and Sugar or , and it doesn't float into off-white territory. Compared with , the yellow warmth is dialed back, so the green cast feels softer and more settled.

Use Malt for backgrounds in product and analytics dashboards, especially in SaaS and publishing systems where you want warmth without that dense, "earthy" presence. It works well behind tables and dense text blocks because it holds contrast better than the paler creams around it, but it won't overpower photography like more saturated greens can. I reach for it when I need warmth that stays controlled, the kind of color that looks calm even after you drop in charts and form fields.

Pair it with charcoal or deep olive for clean structure. If you go too neutral elsewhere, Malt can start to feel a little muted, like it's waiting for stronger accents.
