Warm brushed steel gray for machinery UI sidebars
About Mega Metal Mecha
You can spot Mega Metal Mecha the moment a mockup's header goes up. It has that cool, steely gray feel, but it's not as pale and ghostlike as Frozen Mammoth, and it doesn't tilt pink or warm like Ephemeral Red. Compared to Dangerous Robot, it reads a touch lighter and more metallic, less flat, with a steadier gray backbone.
I use it when I need the one you reach for for UI chrome that should feel engineered, not soft. Think B2B product dashboards, logistics and manufacturing portals, admin panels, and documentation systems where the background needs to stay calm but still have presence behind icons and charts. It sits well with darker charcoal and mid grays, giving contrast without pushing into the taupe zone that warmer candidates can flirt with.
Quirk: on very warm displays it can start to feel slightly flatter, so I test it alongside my accent gray before locking the system.
