About Platinum
On my monitor, Platinum reads like a polished office desk under cloudy light. It's not quite as warm as Foggy Day and it doesn't hover on the verge of invisible like Helium. Compared to Snowed In, it's a touch less frosty and a bit more settled, with a steadier gray presence.
I use Platinum as a clean light-neutral when I want surfaces to feel finished, not soft. It's a solid pick for design systems and product dashboards in SaaS, especially in analytics pages, settings screens, and admin tables where borders and spacing need to hold their shape. Editorial-wise, it works as the quiet backdrop behind charts and callouts without pushing photography or typography around.
One quirk: because it's slightly more neutral than the others, it can make cool grays feel even cooler. If that's a problem, anchor headers and key numbers with a warmer off-gray or a confident blue-gray instead.
