Swan Dive
#e5e4dd
Soft cool gray with swanlike calm, less warm than Prairie Winds
About Swan Dive
On screen, Swan Dive looks like a light gray that's been softened by a quick rinse, then left to air-dry. It's not the faintly toast-leaning warmth of Morning Bread, and it doesn't pick up the cool, slightly green clarity of Prairie Winds. Compared to Tofu, it feels a touch more creamy and a little more balanced in temperature, so it reads less chalky and more like a quiet, lived-in neutral.
I use this shade when I want the background to stay airy but still feel grounded in print-like texture. It's great for editorial and publishing layouts that need large type to breathe without going nearly-white, and it works well in dashboards and fintech UI where you want panels to recede without looking dusty. For long sessions in product and ops tools, the one I reach for when chrome needs to stay calm while the hierarchy stays readable.
Pair it with medium ink grays and muted, cool accents. If you push it too warm, it starts to drift toward that chalky, undercooked look the nearby breadier grays can hit.
