Olive Conquering White
#e4e5d8
Muted olive undertone for grounded light-gray panels
About Olive Conquering White
I've got this Olive Conquering White sitting behind an editorial spec sheet and it just looks calmer than it should for a near-white. It's not the pale neutrality of Apollo Landing, and it doesn't lean into yellow like Fish Ceviche. Instead, it carries a quiet olive cast under the gray, so it reads warmer than pure white but without turning beige.
Use it when you need a background that holds still across long reads: publishing platforms, Kindle-style light-mode layouts, and product pages where you want breathing room without the "paper" feeling of a more cream-forward gray. It's also a solid choice for editorial side panels, empty states, and form sections that need to feel finished, not clinical. Against cool grays and true blacks, it gives you the one you reach for when you want tone control that doesn't fight your typography.
Caution: pair it with very yellow creams and the olive undertone can start to look a bit muddy. Keep accents slightly cooler or more neutral and it stays crisp.
