Tofu

Cool, creamy off-white gray for airy, calm layouts
About Tofu
Tofu reads like the lightest layer of pale flour on a gray surface. It's not quite the crisp, cool neutrality of Prairie Winds, and it doesn't carry Morning Bread's faint toast-warm undertone. Compared to Fish Ceviche, it stays restrained and gray-first, with none of that yellow nudging the temperature.
This shade has a slightly chalky, softly muted feel that makes UI chrome recede without turning into near-white. I like using it behind dense tables, settings pages, and documentation templates where you need calm contrast from headings but you don't want the background to look dusty. In product and ops tools, it keeps "quiet" consistent even when you stack panels, toolbars, and sidebars for long sessions. It's the one you reach for when you want background restraint with a gentle, neutral mood.
Pair Tofu with medium grays for borders and ink-toned text. If you lean too warm with creams, it can start to feel flat next to its neighbors.
