X Marks the Spot
#e6474a
Darker street-orange marker with firmer, spicier undertone
About X Marks the Spot
I see X Marks the Spot as a street-sign orange-red on a sunlit corner, not a deep warning red. It's less tomato-clean than Red Arremer and not as pinky-candy as Watermelonade. Compared to Furious Piñata, it feels a touch calmer and more controlled, but still pushes forward fast with a crisp, saturated hit.
The shade I use when the UI needs that "stop and look" moment without the sharp bite of a harsher red. It's great for dash markers, map-like progress steps, and timeline highlights in e-commerce and consumer fintech where you want action states to read instantly. I also like it for selected filters and callouts on dark cards, especially when you need the accent to stay legible next to gray typography and warm neutrals.
One quirk: it can look slightly flat on very warm backgrounds, so give it contrast with cooler grays or a cleaner cream base.
