Whisper of White
#eadbca
Warmer gray-white for soft cards, less milky
About Whisper of White
I like Whisper of White on mockups because it holds a soft page-light feel without slipping into either chalky gray or creamy yellow. Next to Skeleton it reads a touch airier, less "almost gone." Versus Crepuscular, there's no warm undertone showing through the way that one can on different screens, so your layout stays consistently neutral.
It's my go-to base for interfaces that need softness without the warmth swings, especially in publishing workflows and studio admin panels where preview panes, manuscript pages, and specs need to feel gentle but still sharp. Type stays readable because the background isn't truly timid, and photos keep their contrast instead of flattening into fog.
Quirk: if you pair it with very dark text, it can feel a bit clinical in dim rooms. I usually soften hierarchy with slightly less aggressive blacks or reserve the darkest tones for headers and key UI states.
