Distant Wind Chime

Distant Wind Chime is the gray that actually has some air in it. It sits noticeably lighter than Anti-Flash White or Chef's Hat, the kind of pale you see on a screen after your eyes adjust to a dark room. Sidebars, panels, disabled form states, body text backgrounds. Because it's got that touch of warmth baked in, it reads as intentional without the cool precision Celestial Cathedral carries. Pair it with warm accents and the palette coheres naturally. Pair it with cool tones and you'll feel the slight temperature push, which is actually useful if you want visual hierarchy without contrast drama.

The thing: it's light enough that it needs strong text contrast to earn its keep. Surround it with near-whites and it'll blur. Anchor it with actual content colors and it becomes the surface you didn't know you needed.
