Sandstorm
#ecd540
Dry yellow-green sand accent for calm charts
About Sandstorm
Sandstorm looks like a dusted, sunlit yellow on a warehouse wall, not a clean marker tone. Compared to Anna Banana and Aurora, it's a touch less airy, and it reads more earthy in the midtones. The saturation is present but pulled back just enough that it feels grounded, not punchy. I'd describe it as warmer than pure white but with a dry, sandy undertone that keeps it from going buttery.
Use it where you want attention without the "bright yellow" glare. I like it for dashboards and finance apps when the UI needs cheerful emphasis on charts, badges, and validation states, especially over light grays. It sits closer to Banana Drama in intention, but it won't feel as weighty or bold; it lands softer, more pragmatic than Banana Drama's deeper warmth.
Pair it with olive, clay, or charcoal so the sand note shows up. On very pale backgrounds it can still feel a little insistent, so give it some padding and a solid neutral next to it.
