Young Crab
#f6a09d
Light, rosy orange with calmer peach undertone
About Young Crab
Young Crab reminds me of a fresh swipe of orange on a sunny morning, but with the pigment slightly softened, so it doesn't tip into peach or blush. Compared to Her Majesty, it has more orange presence and less creaminess, so it reads more assertive than polite. Relative to Calabrese, it's a touch lighter and airier, with less of that settled, trust-first calm. And next to Peach Punch, it's less pink-glazed and more clearly orange-leaning, so it feels warmer and less "faded overlay."
For UI, it's the one you reach for when you want friendly momentum without looking salmony. I use it in onboarding steps for travel and consumer health, in wellness and beauty form highlights, and on lifestyle product cards where the accent needs to feel current, not dusty. It also holds up well in marketing banners for events and seasonal drops, where you want warmth to read as active, not muted.
Pair it with cream, tan, and light sand to keep the undertone true. If you stack it beside cooler grays, it stays bright, but it can look a little more "pink-orange" than you expect.
