Ghost White
#f8f8ff
Softer than Cloud Break, cooler than Cotton Boll
About Ghost White
Ghost White is almost too faint to trust. It sits so close to pure white that you'll second-guess whether there's any color in it at all, until you place it against something with actual temperature, and then you realize it's been sitting dead neutral the whole time. No purple lean like Cloud Break. No blue whisper like Cotton Boll or Cotton Ball. This one doesn't commit to either direction, which means it won't fight whatever you pair it with.
It's the shade for interfaces that need to disappear completely: clean data dashboards, financial platforms, healthcare apps where the background should feel like it's not there at all. Body text, form fields, secondary panels in light mode, anywhere you want maximum contrast without introducing mood. It works because it's genuinely committed to nothing, which sounds like a weakness until you're in a context where neutrality is the whole point.
The real difference from its neighbors is that Ghost White won't betray you if you're mixing color temperatures elsewhere in your palette. It's not going to hint that it'd rather be warmer or cooler. Pair it with anything and it'll just hold the line.
