About Marigold
Marigold looks like the first bright slice of late-afternoon sun hitting a matte wall, not the hard flash you'd get from an electric yellow. Compared to Amber and Mikado Yellow, it sits a touch softer and less aggressively golden, with a slightly honeyed undertone that reads smooth rather than punchy.
For me, it's the one you reach for when you need warmth that feels friendly but still crisp on UI. Marigold's lightness helps it hold detail in retail product pages, recipe cards, and promotional chips without turning into the deeper "badge heat" you might get from warmer yellows. It also works well in SaaS tables and onboarding steps where you want attention that doesn't feel like Amber's more confident shove, and it stays cleaner than Not Yo Cheese when the design needs a bit more lift.
Pair it with deep green, charcoal, or cool neutrals so the honey note doesn't flatten on cream. If your layout is already warm, give it a cooler border to keep the edges sharp.
