Marinara Red

Slightly muted, hot red-orange for focus
About Marinara Red
Marinara Red looks like a slow simmer of red that never turns fully crimson. Compared with Left on Red, it feels less signal-clean and more syrupy, with a slightly heavier, more grounded body. And unlike British Phone Booth, it doesn't read as aggressively hot, so it won't bully the layout into noticing it. It also avoids Candy Apple Red's lean, high-precision coolness, landing warmer and more inviting on-screen.
I use it for primary CTAs and alert headers where you want urgency that feels human, not mechanical. Think food and beverage brand systems, subscription checkout screens, and packaging-heavy ecom banners. It holds up well on dark UI shells for category labels and callouts, but it stays readable on light too without getting brittle. This is the one you reach for when Fire Engine-style intensity feels too harsh and Carolina Reaper-style sharpness feels too clinical.
Pair it with deep charcoal, warm off-whites, or muted browns to keep the undertone consistent. If you drop it next to very pure reds, it'll look a touch more settled, not "off," just warmer in comparison.
