Subnautical

Cool midnight violet-blue for crisp, calm panels
About Subnautical
I keep noticing Subnautical in dark UI mockups as that "purple that stayed calm" when everything else wants to either go too deep or too blue. It's a mid-deep navy-purple, slightly more muted and less crisp than Fibonacci Blue, and it doesn't collapse into the near-black sink of Black Sea Night. Compared to Dark Soul, it reads a touch lighter and more deliberate, like ink that's been steadied rather than barely darkened.
For me it's the go-to secondary tone for dashboards and finance apps UI elements that need clarity without the sharper pop of a blue-leaning accent. In healthcare software it works for status badges and quiet action states where the page can't feel clinical, but the hierarchy still has to hold. I also use it for chart series fills and hover treatments in fintech screens when I want the one you reach for that won't glow or blur against dark grays.
One small caution: it pairs best with cool neutrals and restrained contrast. Push it beside warm creams or caramel grays and the purple loses its focus fast.
