Eight Ball
#03050a
Inky gray with a muted, blue-tinged depth
About Eight Ball
On a dark canvas, Eight Ball looks like night ink that refuses to go fully dead. It's slightly brighter than Black Hole and not as deep-cool as Dark Rift. The mood is grounded, not empty, with a gray undertone that stays readable when your eye would otherwise give up searching.
I like it for dark mode editorial spreads where you need long-form pages to feel settled, not swallowed. It also works well in broadcast graphics control rooms for panels, gutters, and dense timeline backgrounds where you want hierarchy to stay crisp. Compared to Black Knight, it's less about buried warmth and more about a steady, neutral hold.
Quirk: hover states and dividing lines will feel more intentional if you nudge them just a touch above your instinct, since Eight Ball still drinks contrast faster than the lighter grays in the family.
