Star of Life

Deeper rescue blue for high-contrast alerts
About Star of Life
I first saw Star of Life on a hospital-style emergency banner: it hit fast and readable, not airy like the lighter blues. Compared with Honolulu Blue's brighter, more open sea-sky feel, this one is a bit deeper and tighter, so it reads more deliberate than relaxed. Versus Haddock's Sweater, it comes off less settled and a little more electric, and it doesn't have that lived-in cool weight.
Star of Life works especially well for dashboards and healthcare screens where you need a primary action that feels urgent without turning into pure panic. Think EHR buttons, triage alert UI, logistics incident panels, and callout links in compliance-heavy web apps. It also pairs cleanly with charcoal and cool grays because the hue stays decisive blue while the neutrals do the calming. Relative to Mykonos, it's more saturated and slightly more intense, so it won't drift into that crisp, UI-only blue look.
If you drop it on very dark surfaces, watch for haloing; a deeper navy label color helps keep hierarchy sharp.
