About Black Market
Black Market is the purple that stops being purple the second you stop looking at it. It's darker and flatter than everything around it, 20000 Leagues Under the Sea and Atlantic Navy both have more saturation, more presence, more willingness to be seen. This one absorbs instead.
Reach for it in dark mode interfaces, design systems, and backend tooling where you need a color that works as structure instead of accent. Form inputs, disabled states, tertiary navigation, icon fills that shouldn't compete with the actual content. It's the kind of color that works harder when you're not paying attention to it. Against deep gray or true black it reads as intentional, there's enough purple in the undertone to keep it from feeling like pure void, but not so much that it glows or feels warm.
The constraint is real: this one demands cool backgrounds and will turn muddy fast against anything warm. It won't forgive sloppy contrast either. But paired correctly with blacks and cool neutrals, it disappears exactly when you want it to.
