I keep running into Sapphire Splendour on dark mockups where people want "purple energy" without losing legibility. Compared to Blue Hour and Galactic Highway, it doesn't tip toward blue-first inkiness. It stays more sapphire-cool with a firmer purple undertone, and it reads a shade deeper and more saturated, so it feels like a controlled spotlight instead of a softened blue edge.

This is the kind of purple I reach for in dashboards and finance apps when the UI needs urgency but you still want the highlight behavior to feel measured. Think campaign status panels, release notes, fintech tables with link states, and internal ops consoles where tags, focus rings, and selection pills have to stay distinct on black.

One quirk: because it's deeper than the nearby purples, it can swallow fine details if your text weight is too thin. Pair it with restrained cool grays and keep warm accents minimal, or they'll look muddy next to the cooler base.
