The End
#2a2a2a
Almost-black neutral gray for grounded, low-contrast UIs
About The End
On my monitor, The End reads like a shutdown screen that never quite goes fully black. It's a very dark gray with a slightly warmer, flatter undertone than Nero, so it doesn't lean bluish, and it also doesn't feel as slatey as Dire Wolf. Compared to Carbon Fibre, it doesn't recede quite as far. You still perceive it, it just stays quiet.
I use it when I want depth without triggering that void feeling, especially in dark mode settings where panels, gutters, and hierarchy need to look "finished" rather than swallowed. It's solid for dashboards and finance apps when the surrounding grays are already working and you just need the base layer to hold type and dividers steady, including in editorial backends and admin surfaces for media companies.
Pair it with cooler, lightly desaturated accents if you want contrast to stay crisp, but avoid putting it next to very warm browns, because that slight warmth in the shade starts to look a bit tired.
