Night Sky

At a glance, Night Sky looks like a dark slate that hasn't committed to true black. It's a gray with a slightly lighter body than the deeper anchors, so it reads with presence instead of disappearing. Compared to Caviar, it holds the surface longer and doesn't feel as "gone" or ultra-cool.

Night Sky feels clean and weighty rather than vanishing, and it sits between Jaguar's softer charcoal mood and Infinity's near-black discipline. I use it as the base for dark UI surfaces where you want panels to recede but still look composed: newsroom sidebars, post-production timelines, media review tools, and control areas in audio and video suites. It's the kind of color that lets near-white type and cool gray rules stay crisp without the background stealing attention.

Pair it with cool off-whites and restrained accent hues. If you stack warm creams on top, the slate starts to feel a bit murky.
