Jaguar
#29292f
Slightly warm, steely near-black for UI depth
About Jaguar
On a dark canvas, Jaguar reads like a charcoal that decided to keep a little softness instead of going full void. It's a touch lighter than Caviar, so it doesn't vanish under interface layering, but it still stays firmly in the gray camp. Compared to Anthracite, Jaguar feels cooler and less "aged," so it gives weight without the warmer nudge.
I use Jaguar when I want a deep backdrop that still lets typography feel crisp. Think dark UI surfaces for video editors, music-production timelines, and media review panels where dense thumbnails and timelines need steadiness more than drama. It holds its ground better than Haiti when the screen is packed with panel borders and controls, yet it won't feel as mechanically cold as Caviar.
Pair it with a restrained range of near-neutrals and accents that are allowed to breathe. If you lean too far into warm whites, Jaguar can start to look slightly heavy in the midtones.
