Matt Green
#39ad48
Matte medium green with balanced brightness and calm
About Matt Green
Matt Green is what I see when a logo green gets mixed with fresh paint and a touch of matte finish. It lands mid-depth, but it doesn't feel thin or neon. The undertone is a calm, slightly cooler herbal green, and the lightness is balanced so it reads grown-up next to the brighter yard-style greens.
I reach for it in dashboards and finance apps when you want success or status cues that feel confident without turning playful. Think procurement and retail operations screens, KPI deltas, "verified" chips, and logistics step progress where the green has to stay readable on busy table headers. Versus Hanging Gardens of Babylon, it's less airy and more solid. Versus Devil's Grass, it's not as deep or earth-leaning, so it won't sink into that shaded, mossy mood. And compared with Fennel Fiasco, it's a little more muted and less "herb under studio lights," so it won't look overly sharp next to warm neutrals.
Pair it with light wood or soft sand. Too much cool gray around it can make it feel a bit flat, so keep the surrounding whites slightly warm.
