Toad King
#3d6c54
Earthy midtone green for grounded status accents
About Toad King
I'm looking at Toad King and it reads like a pond-side boardwalk plank: green, but with a heavier, earthier weight than a leaf. It's darker than Parsley Sprig and less wet-looking than Into the Green, so it doesn't feel like fresh paint. Instead, it sits in a calm middle where the undertone turns more mossy than crisp.
In UI work, I use it when you want a grounded green that still feels alive, not "forest editorial." It's my go-to for dashboards and field-service reporting where mid-tier alerts, map labels, and section headers need to stay legible without turning into a neon accent. Compared with Forest Serenade, Toad King feels slightly less shaded-canopy and more earthy-cold, so it holds steadier next to warm neutrals.
Pair it with off-whites, weathered oak, or muted slate. If you push it against very saturated greens, it can look more serious and a bit older, like it's been outside a while.
