Cowboy

Cowboy sits in that narrow band where gray stops feeling like a default and starts feeling intentional. It's darker than Chinotto, warmer than Black Truffle, but it doesn't split the difference, it's got its own temperature. There's a muted earthiness underneath without the lived-in weight of Batch Brew. It reads as substantial without demanding attention.

This is the one for interfaces that need backbone without personality getting in the way. Dark mode layouts, design tools, content platforms, financial dashboards where the background has to support dense information without fading to nothing. It's sturdy enough to hold UI elements without floating them, neutral enough that saturated accents land clean against it. Type renders with real contrast; photography doesn't fight it; muted palettes feel at home here.

Pair it with warm blacks or deep charcoal and it grounds the layout. Against desaturated greens or rust accents, it knows how to step back without disappearing entirely, the kind of color that works harder than it looks.
