About Thundercloud
Thundercloud is the kind of blue you notice when the rest of the UI looks too clean. It's a stormy, muted blue-gray that sits closer to Gothic in weight, but stays slightly more relaxed and less flat, with a cooler feel that doesn't go quite as "all-business" as that neighbor.
For dashboards and finance apps, I use it when I want structure without that chalky, icy lift you get from Arctic. It also helps it stand apart from Puddle Jumper: Thundercloud has less "wet shine" and more steady, grounded saturation, so headers, table rows, and secondary panels don't drift toward teal or feel watery. I'll drop it into card backgrounds, status bands, and dense data views where you need blue that works harder than it looks.
Pair it with near-neutral text and keep your accent color separate, because this shade can swallow thin borders if your contrast is already tight.
