Heron
#6a6887
Smoky mid violet with gray-cool calm for UI
About Heron
Heron reads like a softened bruise that never gets too dark. It's a medium purple with a slightly cool lean, but it's not the shadowy, smoky weight of Dark Prince, and it doesn't sink back and recede like Bureaucracy. Compared with Flying Carpet's smooth, steady calm, Heron feels a touch more muted and clouded, like the color has been gently misted.
I use Heron when I need purple that stays readable on dense interface surfaces, especially in dashboards and finance apps where headings and secondary accents have to look composed rather than punchy. It also works in product settings and admin-style media thumbnails where you want a real brand signal without the dusty-gray drift you'd get from more desaturated purples.
Pair it with crisp near-whites or pale lavender, and keep the contrast a bit cleaner than you would with Bureaucracy. On very dark backgrounds it can look slightly hazy, so a tighter border helps it hold shape.
